What to expect

Hearing care services to make you hear with confidence and comfort.

Our Approach To Health Care

Hearing care is most successful when you are empowered to understand the state of your hearing and the plan to make it better. Stanford Hearing Centre provides personalized care from board-certified Hearing Instrument Specialists, and we’ll guide you through every step so you are educated and excited about your hearing health.

Your first visit

During your first visit, a Hearing instrument Specialist will ask you questions about your hearing difficulties, health history and lifestyle.

Our goal is to understand the hearing challenges you experience and the potential factors that may contribute. We will then perform a hearing test and discuss the results.

Hearing tests

We will physically examine your ears and look inside with an otoscope. Your hearing and speech comprehension will be tested through a series of non-invasive and painless tests.

Discuss the results

Based on your results, we will make recommendations for a hearing plan if necessary.

If hearing aids are suggested, we will review the options and what to expect from wearing hearing aids.

Hearing aid fitting

After your new hearing aids arrive, we will fit and adjust them according to your hearing loss needs. This process involves precisely programming the devices and testing them while you wear them.

Hearing aid trial

Our hearing aid trials allow you to wear the devices in your daily life. We request that you schedule an appointment during the trial period to check in on your progress and complete any necessary adjustments.

Follow-up Appointments

Ongoing adjustments and maintenance are included with your hearing aids. We want you to get the most out of your devices, so we routinely adjust the amplification and programming based on your progress or any changes in your lifestyle.

It is recommended to book an appointment every six months for a check-up and cleaning.
